Linguistic modelling of situations

J. Korn, F. Huss, J. D. Cumbers

pp. 81-85

A characteristic feature of the last few decades has been the high intensity and vast scale of human activities involving complex, interacting organisations in industry, transport and many other areas. Such activities imply considerable financial, environmental and social risks. These risks, as well as the intellectual challenge, have prompted investigators to develop methods of analysis which can account for the confused and intractable situations associated with such activities.
