Unidimensional unfolding complemented by feigin and cohen's error model

A. W. van Blokland-Vogelesang

pp. 123-136

We shall first introduce the unfolding model as outlined in Coombs (1964). Coombs's unfolding model (Coombs, 1964) is based on the analysis of complete orderings of preference. Each judge reports his ordering of preference for a number of objects: I-scale ("Individual"). It is the aim of unidimensional unfolding to find the underlying dimension (if there is one) on which objects as well as individuals find a place: I-scale (Joint").
