(1997) Philosophy of development, Dordrecht, Springer.
In the aesthetic domain the word "development" is often used with regard to the styles or oeuvres of an artist, a specific art form (e.g., the sonnet or the fugue), or aesthetic preferences of individuals or groups. However, there have always been hesitations to make conceptual development claims, as defined in this book, within or concerning the aesthetic domain. This may be the reason why until recently there has been relatively little empirical research in this field.
