(1997) The new role of the academies of sciences in the Balkan countries, Dordrecht, Springer.
The Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic was established by law in 1992 as the Czech successor of the former Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. It is structured as a network of 59 research institutes and five supporting units and is staffed by 6,500 employees, approximately one-half of which is university-trained scientists and Ph.D. researchers.
