(1993) Health research in practice, Dordrecht, Springer.
Research in health education is primarily characterized by the use of quantitative methods in which research is performed on and for people. Naturalistic methods which attempt to do research with people are found infrequently in the literature although these methods have often been employed within school settings. This chapter represents the story of my first attempt at doing naturalistic research and is drawn in large part from the methodology section of my Honours thesis in health education which was completed in 1990.
